In each boiler house the boilers, water heaters, all associated pumps and pipework and the full system were replaced or conversion of any original plant from oil and LPG to natural gas. The works also included replacing 50 plus heat fan convectors and radiators to various areas throughout the school.
In addition to the works on the heating system, new ventilation systems were installed for both the kitchen and changing rooms. In the kitchen a new AHU was installed to supply tempered air and connected to new stainless steel kitchen canopies complete with associated ductwork connected to extract fans. A new gas proving system was also installed as part of the installation.
For the changing rooms a cross flow AHU system was installed supplying tempered air extraction to the areas.
An additional gas proving system was also fitted in the technology department and connected to a new forge and welding bay.
In total the contract valve was in excess of £600k and with careful planning and full cooperation with the school for access the works were completed on schedule in time for the new heating season.
